That being said, the entire time I've had it, it's had the best PQ I've ever seen, and gets plenty bright for us. The good news is we only notice it currently if the screen is red, but thankfully most times it's not our focal point when we're watching something, and it's not noticeable in a dynamic/non-red background. We noticed this late last year, so about 4.5 years after I got the TV. We've now got burn in from the red youtube logo in the upper right, as well as in the upper left (that one I can't quite figure out). it's literally 75% of the time is YouTube. so much we actually subscribe to YouTube Premium), followed distantly by Netflix and Disney+, then whatever random streaming services we have the rest of the time(Hulu, HBO, etc). a B6), but we watch a whole lot of YouTube (i.e. Here's my experience (although it is with one of the first LG's. I think they’re fine if you’re accustomed to built in speakers and probably better than the average built in speaker but if you’ve had a taste of true bookshelf speakers (and I really hope you give them a try) they won’t compare I’ve actually seen quite a few posts saying how great they were and how they don’t get enough attention. As far as the built in speakers go they certainly aren’t terrible and in any other room like a bedroom I would probably just stick with it (or a soundbar as bad as they are). This the route I took, literally started with just a pair of speakers a couple months later added a sub and now just this past New Years I added a center, my next steps are surrounds. Then down the road add a subwoofer then a center than a pair of surrounds and you got yourself a kick ass 5.1 surround sound home theater with the best picture quality on the market. You’re asking the wrong guy about that! I’m a huge “home theater” (more like living room theater) guy so I’m completely against built in speakers AND sound bars ( why you shouldn’t buy a soundbar) I highly recommend a nice simple pair of bookshelf speakers and a receiver and it will transform your cinema experience. Even Mrs loves it and she could care for tech. I seen someone say owning a oled is an experience and to enjoy. Makes you want to rewatch all your favourite films, also gaming in 120hz is amazing □. You really don't know what your missing till you see one. Anything in HD upwards looks absolutely stunning. Personally you can't beat a oled for picture quality. I've heard lg cover burn in on tvs upto 6 years old if I'm correct, for free and your lucky enough. Buying a new panel and being fixed is still cheaper then a new TV. Even if you get burn in the TV still works and you can get insurance for it too to be covered. Still completely clean and I game for about 2 hrs when I get a chance. I stopped doing burn in checks and did one for this month as a yearly check. You only notice burn in if you look for it. Was really really paranoid about burn in at frist. I have had my b9 oled for a year this month. I decided to go for it! However, my trusted retailer told me they are expecting to get the Sony A90J/A80J soon, so I am gonna be waiting for that for a few weeks, Thanks everyone for the helpful discussion. My primary use case would be movies (4K Blu-ray, and streaming from Netflix, HBO, and Apple TV+, TV shows and the occasional sports event.ĭo you think I should just go for it (it’s quite expensive which is my biggest concern), get a full array local dimming LED, or just wait for miniLED ? I don’t really plan on using it for gaming. ![]() Some reviews are showing sever burn-in while also saying it’s not really a big deal so it seems confusing to me. However, I’ve never really owned an OLED screen before (other than the one in my phone). Some reviews even say it’s marginally better than the newer CX and has gotten the webOS 5 update too. I’ve watched some reviews and checked local retailed availability and it seems like the LG C9 is the best one available for purchase at the moment. This was probably asked before but I’m looking into getting a new TV.
